The intended audience of Corrosive Death is for people ages over 18, that have an interest in action, anime, dark fantasy, horror, sci-fi, queer themes, and Australian representation. But of course, I’m happy to have anyone watch it. Though if they’re under 15 they’ll need parental guidance. Corrosive Death is a post-apocalyptic story that follows a 25-year-old woman named Soul, who lives in Australia in the year 3,000. She is a mixed Japanese/Australian, who’s physically strong, capable of defending herself and her loved ones, stubborn but caring, and a no nonsense person.

Her current goal is to earn enough money for her, James (her adopted brother), and Mark (her father), to leave the planet and live a better life elsewhere. As global warming has made wetlands dry, flooded coastal areas that used to be habitable, made food and oxygen scarce, and water polluted. On top of that, due to the natural human greed and hubris our kind possesses, genetic cloning and splicing experiments have escaped, adapted, and evolved as a new addition to the Earth’s ecosystem.

The humans who were rich enough to leave the planet have since moved on. But many could not, they either died, mutated, or became diseased. Domes were created on Earth to try and keep the remaining survivors safe with shelter and resources. Feral mutants are a category of mutants that are a danger to human life, and are not granted personhood. Domes attempt to keep feral mutants out, but it is not always effective. Soul sometimes will be asked by her community to deal with these creatures, as she is one of the very few willing to risk her life for others.

Something that cannot be necessarily said for the little law enforcement the dome possesses. Her work in saving lives is voluntary and unpaid, but greatly appreciated. Instead, she earns her money via working overtime at her father’s bar in his hotel. She is in a fortunate position in comparison to other Earth dwellers, though underprivileged in comparison to those who live in space. This is all I’m willing to make public, as I do not want to spoil anything.
